is to
Elect a
MAYOR
of METAMORA
Accordingly, The
Metamora Economic Development Corp Has Taken It Upon Themselves to Conduct
an Election of Said Mayor Through a Purely Democratic Process.
Said Election Process
to Take Place From May through August 2006
Rules
of Election
Campaigning and
Voting to Take Place Simultaneously
Who
Can Vote:
No voter registration is required. Eligible voters include every resident,
merchant, tourist, person or organization with an interest in Metamora, or
any tramp or passerby with a wallet, regardless of number of legs, and
without respect to race, color, creed, age, income, residence, citizenship,
nationality, religion, condition of fitness or lack thereof.
Eligibility Requirements for Candidates for the Office of MAYOR
1.
Must be breathing.
2.
Must have no more than four (4) legs.
Candidates or their
Keepers must pay a $20 filing fee to get on the ballot. Registrations
of Candidates will be conducted during the month of May. You can
register online or an any of the 6 polling stations in Metamora.
VOTING:
Just like in real life, ALL VOTES WILL BE BOUGHT. 1
Vote - $1.00. Votes will be accepted online or
at any of the 6 polling stations in Metamora.
VOTE EARLY and VOTE OFTEN!
SCHEDULE OF ELECTION:
Candidate Nominations will be accepted during the month of May, 2006.
As long you (it) meets the eligibility requirements and pay the $20 entrance
fee you (it) can be a candidate.
Voting will commence at the 2006 Metamora Mayoral Campaign Kickoff during
the Metamora “CELEBRATE 1838”
Festival in June 2006. Vote online or at any polling stations.
There will be a
Candidates
Debate
during the METAMORA 4TH OF JULY
WEEKEND Celebration during which
all candidates will be offered the opportunity to speak on their own
behalf. (Any non-human candidates will be allowed to have a human speak for
them.)
FINAL VOTING and actual PRONOUNCEMENT OF WINNER will be conducted during the
2006 METAMORON DINNER in August
2006.
Voting results to date will be posted weekly until the final week before the
final voting.
During the final week, tallies will be posted daily. During the final two
hours of voting at the Metamoron Dinner, the tally will be kept posted up to
the minute continuously until the polls are closed.
All proceeds from the election will benefit the Metamora
Economic Development Corporation Public Restroom Fund and the "I Believe"
Campaign.
