you love making chili, having a ton of fun and winning a prize for doing it,
come on down to Metamora and join our chili cook-off. Dig out your favorite
recipe or find a copy of your grandmother’s cookbook and start cooking.
First, Second prizes as well as Third prize which is the People’s
Choice Award donated by the Merchants of Metamora.

Basic Requirements for
Entry
Each cooking team will be limited to a maximum of
(3) persons.
Each team will have a Head Chef who will be
responsible fore cooking not less than (1) gallon of chili and
turning in (1) cup of chili for judging (cups will be supplied).
Only one sample will be taken from any one pot.
All chili must be cooked on-site the day of the
cook-off.
Each team must supply all ingredients, utensils and
accessories necessary to cook their chili.
Chili may be dispensed to the public only after
judging samples have been collected.
Cooking will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
at which time samples will be gathered for judging.
Please arrive early for set up. Check in at
the registration table in the Firehouse upon arrival. Signs will be posted
showing location of event. Entry fee is $20.
First Prize: $200.00 and trophy, Second Prize $80.00 and trophy, Third Prize: Gift Basket.
Peoples Choice 1st, 2nd and 3rd receive a gift basket.
Trophies and Peoples Choice: donated by Merchant Association.
By entering the chili cook-off you are agreeing to follow all the
chili cook-off requirements, rules & regulations. Anyone not
following these chili cook-off requirements, rules & regulations will
be disqualified and will forfeit the entry fee.
